            a)    Valid RDSO approval for manufacture of fish plate.

            b)     RITES Inspection certificate for fish plate bars.

            c)    Convertor’s valid RDSO approval, invoice of Quantity supplied along with test certificates of Fish Plate Bar manufacturer.

            d)     Internal/External test certificate of chemical composition and mechanical properties as per inspection and test plan for manufacture of fish plate.

            e)     Register for the quantity/no of fishplates manufactured in each shift, with the cast

                    Numbers, the date manufactured.

            f)      PO wise record of dispatches/accountal of fish plate in line with (d) above.

            g)     Internal dimensional check report of fish plate and manufacture chemical check record.

            h)     Calibration record of gauges, measuring instruments & test equipment.

            i)      RDSO approval for templates/gauges.

Fitment

3% of lot/pairs  to be checked for fitment by bolting to two specified rail sections to check the fit. Fit of fish plates shall be tested by attempts to  insert small feeler gauges of size not exceeding 0.5mm between fishing angles of fish plates and rails.

The finished fish plates to be bent between the bolt holes without fracturing or showing any signs of crack on the outside when observed visually and by dye penetration.

10.  

Macrostructure

The macrostructure of the steel on the etched transverse section shall be free from harmful shrinkage, porosity, blow holes, laminations, cracks, non- metallic inclusions, cavities, dendrites etc.

 

IS 11371-1985

11.  

Grain size

Grain size shall be 6 of Finer.

 

 

12.  

Marking

·      Firm’s initials as approved by RDSO, the two digits of the month and last two digit of the year of manufacture of the fishplate bar and heat no.

·      These markings except heat no. of letters/digits shall be rolled at least 15mm in height and 1mm above the surface at the bottom of non-fishing side of fishplate bar at the spacing not exceeding 400mm centre to centre of the identification mark.

·      The heat no. can be hot stamped.

·      All marking must be clear of nuts and bolt holes
